Usually, I come up with a list of 1003859085094348943 New Year’s resolutions. And that’s fine. I recognize that there’s a LOT I want to change about myself.
But, the obvious rule is that when I choose so many things to do, I get none of them done. So, I would like to pick one resolution for 2011.
I knew what it would be for a while… because it’s the one thing...
Never love anybody who treats you like you’re ordinary.

Year in Review
Some exciting things that happened this year (maybe not in chronological order, and definitely not exhaustive):
Spoke at Teens in Tech conference in February in SF • Met my boyfriend of 10 months at said conference • Totally flipped a wig over the stress of sophomore year, then got it together for junior year • Got good scores on AP Euro, AP French, French SAT II, and Math SAT II • Got managing...
I’m seventeen and I’m crazy. My uncle says the two always go together. When...

I am prepared to go anywhere, provided it be forward.

No matter how difficult the past, you can always begin again today.

A small reminder.
If you:
Hate your parents
Are disillusioned with your friends
Dislike your school
Feel like a “failure in a human costume”
Think everything just plain sucks
You can:
Come up with one step you could take to make things better & DO IT
Realize that, in the worst case scenario, you’ll be around here for a couple more years and then you can leave everything and go to...

You know, sometimes happiness for me doesn’t manifest itself as a smile on my face. I get frustrated, I get pessimistic, I lose perspective. I become tired, I get annoyed by small things, I want to give up. But all throughout - I am happy. Always. There have been rare and fleeting periods in my life when I would characterize myself as unhappy in general. I recognize that - whatever is...

Winter break is here.
I am very satisfied with finals… worked hard, for the most part.
<3. Content.
If I fail today’s art history final, I do so with a clear conscience, knowing I did all I could.
So, as a study break, I decided to flip through the Fiske Guide to Colleges 2011. (Yes, you read that correctly.)
What was the outcome of this? My suspicions about Yale have been magnified into a HUGE CRUSH.
1. Life, don’t break my heart. 2. I SHOULD GET BACK TO WORK, ASAP. YALE WON’T TAKE ME IF I FAIL MY CALCULUS FINAL. (Haha. Just kidding. Not really.)
Dear Math, Stop making me look for your X; she's...
You know, I actually am kind of worried about going to college because of the ‘lifestyle’ change. I can’t see myself doing drugs or smoking anything, ever, and I’m not even entirely sure if I’d be up for drinking all the time and hittin’ the clubs… haha, this probably comes as little surprise to people who know me. But, I don’t know, from stereotypes...
I think having you two in my life throws things completely out of perspective for me.

All I want to do right now is go somewhere (to a club?) and dance like there’s no tomorrow. Haha. You could take me to Egypt/Greece and blindfold me and let me touch the statues and I’d tell you their names, dates of origin, and what they symbolize. Damn, I’ve studied too much art history this...
We can’t become what we need to be by remaining what we are.

Yo, juniors. Think of it this way:
Right now, we’re approaching a full set of finals.
Semester 2, most of us have at least one AP, so the studying will be broken up. Plus, AP tests are easier than finals.
Then, senior year, no finals!
This may just be the hardest week we go through in the next two years.
So, college apps are hard. But, while seniors are working on something directly...
17 days ‘til 17. Hehe.
You know what I have no tolerance for?
When someone says, “I have no tolerance for people who…”
Even if someone’s doing something you don’t like, they have a very human, universal need behind it. Even if you express the need in a different way, you could at least relate to that.
And yes, I actually do have tolerance for you (who say you have no tolerance), and your...
Letters > numbers.
Okay, I may not know much, but today I made a good discovery, so maybe y’all who are studying for finals will like it. :) [P.S. I did not invent this - I read about it briefly on the web before.]
So basically, I need to remember a LOT of dates for art history. Tens of historical time periods. No frikkin’ way I’m just memorizing numbers.
So, I equated numbers with letters:
0 -...
I must remind myself that everything is truly a choice. I do everything of my own free will, even if I complain about it. If something is that bad, I could quit. But I don’t. So obviously, there are some redeeming qualities.

Sometimes, newspaper makes me want to… okay, I’ll stop there for everyone’s sakes.
Goals.
My finals goals:

AP Art History: B+
AP Calculus AB: A-
English: A-
AP US History: A-
Adieu, pour le moment.
Okay, I’m downloading the app called Self Control, that lets you irreversibly block websites for a certain period of time, and I’m blocking Tumblr until Friday night. I need to focus on getting this week’s enormous amount of of work done.
Good-bye!
